Thunderstorms produced flash flooding and hail up to half dollar size during the morning of the 10th. In the western part of Smyth County, Sulphur Creek flooded and resulted in the closing of several roads in Chilhowie.

Thunderstorms produced flash flooding and hail up to half dollar size during the morning of the 10th. In the western part of Smyth County, Sulphur Creek flooded and resulted in the closing of several roads in Chilhowie. St Clair Creek was out of its banks and flooded state route 600, and a small section of Old Stage Road was washed out by flood waters.In western Tazewell County, roads were flooded in Richlands, and several county roads around Richlands and Cedar Bluffs were flooded and closed. In addition, Indian Creek flooded onto and closed county road 627.Thunderstorm winds in Smyth County toppled a large tree onto route 107, one mile southeast of Saltville.
