Damaging Winds in Utah, July 5, 1998
Dry microburst winds from severe thunderstorms caused areas of blowing dust to develop across northern Utah. Around 1400 MST visibilities dropped to near zero on I-15 in southern Salt Lake City and resulted in a several multi-vehicle accidents.

Dry microburst winds from severe thunderstorms caused areas of blowing dust to develop across northern Utah. Around 1400 MST visibilities dropped to near zero on I-15 in southern Salt Lake City and resulted in a several multi-vehicle accidents. Downed power lines and trees occurred in Utah and Juab counties as well. A microburst wind gust to 67 mph (58kts) was measured at the NWSFO SLC.
