Thunderstorms fired along the dry line during a once again hot and moderately humid afternoon. At 2100 UTC temperatures around 103 degrees with dew points in the upper 50s. CAPE values were around 2200 J/kg on the SHARP work station when lifting the low-level mean parcel.
The Midland/Odessa radar (KMAF), 71 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 00:01 UTC.

An almost stationary thunderstorm over southwestern Dawson County pounded the area with 60+ mph wind gusts for a 40 minute period.
A farm that received torrential rain, small hail, and high winds flipped an irrigation system and destroyed several hundred acres of cotton. The rain total at this farm was 3.5 inches.
The storm in the southwestern Dawson County moved slowly to the east and produced winds estimated at close to 80 mph at a Cotton Gin.
Just as occurred in SW Dawson County, a long duration of wind occurred from this storm as it developed southward into Martin County. Many tree limbs were broken off and a small shed was damaged. A total of 2.25" of rain was recorded here.
Many County Roads in the area of heaviest rains became washed out. Two miles south of Patricia 3.5" of precipitation was recorded.
Minor flooding occurred on State Highway 349 just south of the Dawson County line.
