A thunderstorm intensified briefly to severe limits over northern sections of the county. Several trees and wires were downed in the town of Orwell shortly before 430 am EDT.
A thunderstorm intensified rapidly over central portions of the county during the pre-dawn hours. The cell produced hail ranging from dime sized to as large as 2 inches in diameter in the town of Girdland. The larger hailstones inflicted some damage to homes and automobiles. A few cars had cracked windshields and some small windows on the upper level of homes were smashed. Briefly strong wind gusts toppled a few trees as well.
