Damaging Wind in Pennsylvania, June 30, 1998
Although the thunderstorms dissipated, the gust front the squall line created farther west in Pennsylvania moved through Delaware County and produced scattered pockets of wind damage (downed trees and wires). The hardest hit municipalities were Aston, Upper Chichester and Upper Darby Townships.

Although the thunderstorms dissipated, the gust front the squall line created farther west in Pennsylvania moved through Delaware County and produced scattered pockets of wind damage (downed trees and wires). The hardest hit municipalities were Aston, Upper Chichester and Upper Darby Townships. Trees fell on houses in both Radnor and Upper Darby Townships. In the western part of the county, most of the downed trees and limbs fell mostly on back streets and had minimal effect on travel. PECO energy reported about 185,000 homes and businesses in their service area lost power, 30,000 of them in Delaware County. Power was restored to everyone midday on Thursday July 2nd.
