A squall line of severe thunderstorms produced scattered pockets of wind damage (downed trees and wires) throughout Northampton County. A wind gust of 60 mph was reported in Nazareth. Fallen trees blocked U.S. Route 22 in Bethlehem and crushed one vehicle. Pennsylvania Power and Light reported that 45,000 homes and businesses in their service area across Northeast Pennsylvania lost power. A little more than one tenth of the outages occurred in Northampton County (5,400).
