Tornado in Pennsylvania, June 16, 1998
A tornado touched down in Coopersdale, a northern suburb of the city of Johnstown. The storm removed the roofs of two high-rise public housing apartment buildings, throwing debris onto a third building and damaging that roof also.

A tornado touched down in Coopersdale, a northern suburb of the city of Johnstown. The storm removed the roofs of two high-rise public housing apartment buildings, throwing debris onto a third building and damaging that roof also. The arched roofs had been built atop the original flat roofed buildings and, probably because of their shape, were lifted off by the strong winds. A few trees were damaged in the area, but surface damage was minimal considering the extent of damage to the roofs.
