Flooding continued along Ochoco Creek in Prineville below the Ochoco Dam from heavy rain in late May. Seventy five residential structures were condemned as a result of flood damage and about 525 residences were affected by the flooding. Total flood damage was estimated at 13 million dollars, $4.25 million in irrigation canal damage alone. There were no reports of deaths or injuries. The Governor of Oregon and President Clinton declared Crook County a disaster area. The rain had stopped falling by May 31 allowing Ochoco Creek returned to within its banks on June 6.
