Flash Flood, Wallowa

Flash flooding along Hurricane Creek about four miles west of Joseph Airport washed out several roads and stranded some campers. The flash floods caused four mud slides. About 25 people were stranded when the largest slide went across the road and change the course of Hurricane Creek. The slide was estimated to be 150 feet wide and 4 feet deep. One of the mud slides pushed a Chevy Geo about 12 feet into the side of the owners' tent. No one was injured.
