Summary of events for April 7 1998:Two isolated severe thunderstorms, following very similar paths, developed by surprise on the evening of April 7 with the approach of a 500 mb cold front in northwesterly flow aloft. Both thunderstorms developed near Stillwater, travelling quickly eastward to near Tahlequah before dying out.

Summary of events for April 7 1998:Two isolated severe thunderstorms, following very similar paths, developed by surprise on the evening of April 7 with the approach of a 500 mb cold front in northwesterly flow aloft. Both thunderstorms developed near Stillwater, travelling quickly eastward to near Tahlequah before dying out. The thunderstorms were separated in time by just over one hour. These thunderstorms produced mostly dime to nickel-sized hail.
