Multi-cell thunderstorms again developed in the early evening and moved south across the southern mountains and piedmont. A few became severe and produced large hail up to golf ball size, as well as damaging winds. Wind damage was confined to downed trees and power lines. The hardest hit area was northeast of Brevard where roads were blocked.
