Heavy rain fell at the rate of 1 to 1.5 inches per hour for several hours over Anson county causing flooding on Highway 52 between Wadesboro and Ansonville. Flooding was also reported on numerous secondary roads where as much as 1 to 2 feet of water closed roads for several hours. Several creeks and streams that feed into the Rocky River came out of their banks. Rainfall amouts of 2 to 3 inches were common throughout the county.
