Lightning Strike in New Hampshire, June 16, 1998
Lightning struck the television antenna of a home in Rye, then travelled down the chimney where it blew a 8 inch hole in the chimney. The electrical charge then travelled through the home's electrical wires and destroyed the wiring in the home causing the smell of burnt plastic and smoke to permeate the home.

Lightning struck the television antenna of a home in Rye, then travelled down the chimney where it blew a 8 inch hole in the chimney. The electrical charge then travelled through the home's electrical wires and destroyed the wiring in the home causing the smell of burnt plastic and smoke to permeate the home. In addition, the force of the bolt caused ceilings to crack and walls to be displaced, knocked pictures off walls and books and other decorative items off shelves. No one was hurt.
