Severe thunderstorms dropped golfball-sized hail and caused high winds from Haverhill to Piermont. The hail broke windows while the winds downed trees and limbs onto per lines creating power outages. Roads were closed due to the fallen trees; Route 10 south of the fairgrounds in Haverhill was hard hit. In Thornton, Route 175 was closed due to fallen trees; winds there were estimated to have gusted to more than 58 mph based on the damage.
