Damaging Winds in Missouri, June 18, 1998
A severe thunderstorm produced scattered wind damage across northern Cole and southern Callaway counties in Central Missouri. In Jefferson City, downed trees and utility lines were scattered about the city.

A severe thunderstorm produced scattered wind damage across northern Cole and southern Callaway counties in Central Missouri. In Jefferson City, downed trees and utility lines were scattered about the city. The story was similar in Wardsville. In south Callaway County, in the Holts Summit area, trees and utility lines were downed, some mobile homes lost their skirting, outbuildings were blown over, and 2 parked truck trailers were blown over at a truck stop along Highway 63. South of Holts Summit along Highway 63 near Cedar Creek, 6 utility poles were downed by the wind. At a nearby home, a pole barn was pick up and smashed against the side of a house. A car and truck were also overturned. A feisty little beagle, named Fish, went for a wild ride but escaped injury when the dog house he was chained to was lifted and thrown about 200 feet across the yard.
