Heavy rainfall of 5 to 8 inches during the past several days caused several rivers along the Mississippi Coast to exceed flood stage and result in considerable low land flooding. The following rivers reached crest stage on March 8, 1998: Biloxi River at Lyman - 15.4 feet, flood stage 12.0 ft; Tchoutacabouffa River at D'Iberville - 12.0 ft, flood stage 8.0 ft; Wolf River near Gulfport - 10.3 ft, flood stage 8.0 ft.
