The atmosphere over southeast Michigan was warm, humid, and unstable. Scattered thunderstorms developed in the early morning hours, just ahead of a strong upper level disturbance. A couple of these storms became marginally severe. Five trees and some power lines were downed in Oxford. Dime sized hail fell in Oxford and in Lapeer. In Port Huron, a lightning strike felled a tree onto an automobile.
