A pair of severe thunderstorms caused wind damage in Caroline County and hit Denton twice. Wind gusts were estimated at around 75 mph and knocked down whole trees and poles. In Denton, windows were blown out of one house and downspouts were pulled away from several homes. An irrigation rig was blown across State Route 331 in Preston. Downed trees were also reported in Federalsburg, Smithville and Tuckahoe Neck. Scattered power outages occurred throughout the county and power was not completely restored until 730 a.m. EDT the next day.
