A bolt of lightning came through the chimney and broke through the ceiling. Two people were in the living room watching tv at the time. They thought it looked like a shotgun flash. The lightning burned a large hole in the ceiling and broke some of the molding where it hit. It also tore sheet rock off the wall and shattered a floor tile.
