A warm front moved north across much of Iowa during the day on the 24th. During the evening, a short wave moved northeast out of the central Rockies. Thunderstorms fired to the southwest of Iowa and eventually spread into the west central and northwest counties of the state. There was not a great deal of severe weather with the storms, however many did produce winds above 50 MPH. High winds struck Sac County. A porch was blown off of a house in Lake View. Widespread tree damage was reported at Denison Beach in Lake View as well. As the storms moved farther northeast, the winds tapered off. Dime size hail fell in Pocahontas County northeast of Varina.
