Flash Flooding in Indiana, June 14, 1998
Strong and severe thunderstorms producing 1 to 4 inch rainfalls in a few hours produced rapid flooding of roads in these counties which were already saturated with high water from storms occurring on June 11 and June 12. In some cases, a few bridges and culverts were washed out such as in Putnam County.

Strong and severe thunderstorms producing 1 to 4 inch rainfalls in a few hours produced rapid flooding of roads in these counties which were already saturated with high water from storms occurring on June 11 and June 12. In some cases, a few bridges and culverts were washed out such as in Putnam County. In most cases, rapidly flooded roads were the main danger but these levels receded within five hours.
