Thunderstorms with very heavy rain flooded numerous roads, including Routes 142, 242, and a viaduct along Route 14 in McLeansboro. Illinois Route 142 was closed near Broughton for several hours. Several residents had to be rescued from their homes by emergency personnel because of flooding.
