Lightning strikes and numerous hot spots ignited new wildfires in the Apalachicola National Forest. A temporary shelter was established in Crawfordville. Eight to ten homes were threatened in the Smith Creek area, just north of Sopchoppy. Two firefighters sustained heat-related injuries. Approximately 24,621 acres of timberland were destroyed since the Holiday Fire erupted on May 25.
