Thunderstorms produced torrential rainfall amounts from 3 to 8 inches within a two-hour period. 35 homes and businesses along Eppes, Hernando, and Pepper Streets in South Tallahassee sustained significant stormwater damage. 54 apartments at the Seminole Apartment Complex near Florida State University reported water levels up to one foot deep. Several low-lying intersections, poor drainage areas, and underpasses were flooded. The Tallahassee Fire and Police Departments responded to numerous calls of stranded motorists and downed power lines. About 4,000 customers in Northeast Tallahassee were without power for two hours when a falling tree shorted out a Centerville Road substation.
