Record warm temperatures produced a rapid snow melt across northern New England and the combined effects of rapid runoff and dam releases caused the Connecticut River to rise above flood stage of 16 feet at 10 AM, March 30th at Hartford. The river remained above flood stage into April...please see April Storm Data for further information. Flood-prone land outside of levee protection was affected.
