A severe thunderstorm produced nickel size hail in Suffield in Hartford County. Lightning hit a chimney in New Britain, starting a fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and confined to the attic, but two third floor apartments were rendered uninhabitable. Thunderstorms brought large tree limbs down onto wires in East Windsor. Power outages affected up to 1,500 customers in the Hartford area.
