Summary of events for May 26 1998:Two isolated thunderstorms developed on the afternoon of May 26: one over southern Sebastian and the other over northern Le Flore County. The more northerly one became severe when it moved to near Fort Smith. This thunderstorm continued to move northeast over Van Buren and finally weakened over northern Crawford County. This storm was responsible for hail as large as quarters. These thunderstorms formed near a weak low-level circulation center during peak daytime heating.
