A moderate frontal system, moving northeastward through the Bering Sea, was preceded by brisk southerly winds. Gusts around 40 mph were reported in the Aleutians (at Adak), while winds peaked at 53 mph at the Cold Bay ASOS.

Gusts around 40 mph were reported in the Aleutians (at Adak), while winds peaked at 53 mph at the Cold Bay ASOS. Along the southwest Alaska coastal areas, wind gusts reached 52 mph (Cape Newenham AWOS).
