High Wind in Alaska, April 13 to 14, 1998
Two lows, along a moderate north-south front from the northeast Pacific into the central Alaska mainland, brought strong southeast wind gusts to areas around Turnagain Arm, the Anchorage Hillside and areas adjacent to Prince William Sound. Gusts reached 70 mph in gusts at Portage (in Turnagain Arm), 63 mph along the Upper Anchorage Hillside and 68 mph at the Cordova boat harbor.
