During the late night hours of July 13-14, several severe thunderstorms developed across northern and central Wisconsin. Trees and power lines were blown down by the strong thunderstorm winds. In addition to knocking several trees down around Rhinelander (Oneida co.), thunderstorm winds tipped over a camper at the Hodag Country Festival grounds, sending two people to the hospital. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down in Winnebago county, where a 68 mph wind gust was measured (city of Neenah). A tree fell onto a house in Neenah, damaging the roof. Nearly 20,000 customers lost power in Winnebago county.
