Severe thunderstorms developed during the early morning hours along the Wasatch Front. Hail 1 1/2" in diameter was reported in American Fork, 1 1/4" in diameter in Pleasant Grove and 1" in diameter in North Orem. Trees and gardens were damaged in the area. Lightning also sparked a house fire in North Orem. Later in the morning, 3/4" diameter hail fell at the Hill Air Force Base.
