Strong low pressure over southern Utah brought high winds to the state. Easterly wind gusts generally from 40-60 mph occurred in northern Utah.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

Strong low pressure over southern Utah brought high winds to the state. Easterly wind gusts generally from 40-60 mph occurred in northern Utah. Winds were funneled through the canyons of the Wasatch Front with widespread damage occurring. Some peak wind gusts were: Mt. Ogden peak (9600' ASL) at 94 mph (82 kts), Centerville at 81 mph (70 kts), Uintalands (8400' ASL) at 60 mph (52 kts), and 65 mph (56 kts) in the Ogden and Bountiful Bench areas. Several tractor-trailers were blown over. There were numerous reports of shingles and siding being removed from houses. Hundreds of large trees were uprooted along with some fences. Power outages and school closures occurred as well.
