Thunderstorms developed late on the 1st over the northeast South Plains along an advancing cold front. A few of the storms were severe. The Quitaque Fire Department reported golfball-size hail west of town. The Floyd County Sheriff's Office reported quarter-size hail south of Floydada. The public reported nickel-size hail in Childress.
