A severe thunderstorm pulled down whole trees in Douglas and Robeson Townships. Limbs and power lines were also pulled down in Amity, Brechnock, Exeter and Muhlenberg Townships and in Adamstown and Birdsboro. The thunderstorms were also prolific lightning producers and about 5,500 homes and businesses lost power throughout Berks County on the 9th.
