A severe thunderstorm moved through the city of Philadelphia and downed trees and wires. Hardest hit was the North Philadelphia area. About 43,000 customers in the PECO Energy service area lost power this evening, 9,000 of them were within Philadelphia. A wind gust of 52 mph was recorded at the Philadelphia International Airport.
