Lower than normal precipitation will diminish crop yields (dollar amounts unknown) in Northeast Ohio by amounts ranging from approximately 25 percent in Lorain County to 50 to 60 percent in Ashtabula and Mahoning Counties. Youngstown Airport (Mahoning County) reported .65 inches of precipitation for the month of July, which broke the previous record of 1.57 inches set in 1957. Akron Canton Airport (Stark) reported 1.19 inches of precipitation, which made it the third driest July on record.
