A thunderstorm during the afternoon hours on the 16th produced damaging winds, hail up to quarter size, and damaging lightning.Thunderstorm winds knocked down trees and power lines in Eden and Mount Airy.A lightning strike started a fire 3.5 miles west-southwest of Danbury in Hanging Rock State Park. The fire burned about one acre before it was contained.
