A line of showers and thunderstorms entered Delaware county between 445 and 500 pm EDT. A cluster of thunderstorms along this line quickly became severe as it raced across the southern portions of the county shortly after 5 pm. This storm was responsible for downing numerous trees and power lines in Hancock around 5 pm and again in Colchester about 515 pm.
