Scattered severe thunderstorms moved southeast across the area. They produced large hail and heavy rain. Two severe thunderstorms produced high winds: one across Richmond County and one over Queens County. High winds downed power lines from New Dorp to Oakwood Beach in Richmond County. In addition, high winds downed trees and power lines in Queens.
