They caused high winds and frequent lightning.High winds downed trees in Paterson, blew two chimneys off roofs in Lyndhurst, and downed power lines in Hasbrouck Hgts and Moonachie (Bergen County).Lightning struck and destroyed two houses and caused electrical outages for more than 17,000 customers of Public Service Electric and Gas Company. The house fires were ignited at 58 College place in Ridgefield Park and 236 Baldwin Ave. in Hasbrouck Hgts. Residents were not home.High winds also downed trees in the Gregory and St. Clouds Sections of West Orange (Essex County).
