Flooding in Nevada, September 25, 1997
A considerably weakened Hurricane Nora was barely a tropical storm by the time its remnants reached southern Nevada. It still managed to produce over an inch of rain in many southern Nevada locations even though the core of the storm tracked across Arizona.

A considerably weakened Hurricane Nora was barely a tropical storm by the time its remnants reached southern Nevada. It still managed to produce over an inch of rain in many southern Nevada locations even though the core of the storm tracked across Arizona. The drenching only produced minor street flooding in Las Vegas and the Pahrump Valley. Access to some outlying homes in Pahrump was cut off as flooded dirt roads became impassable.
