Thunderstorm Wind, Bingham

Where: Bingham County, Pingree
Measured: 53 kt (61 mph)
Coordinates: 43.120, -112.620

A sudden wind storm associated with a thunderstorm blew down several trees, interrupted electrical service and knocked out a glass window in one home. Most of the damage occurred near Pioneer and Wilson Roads. Idaho Power Company spokesman said strong winds damaged a kilovolt transmission line, cutting power to 280 customers in the Pingree area. High winds also ripped through the Thomas area, collapsing two chain link baseball diamond backdrops near Snake River High school.
