Thunderstorms produced up to 2 inches of rain in one hour across the affected area. This high rainfall rate caused flash flooding of many roads across the area.Several motorists became stranded as their cars got stuck along flooded portions of Otrobando Ave., West Town Street and Wawecus Street. Police were forced to close parts of these roads. Flooding also occurred along the Norwich-Bozrah border on Route 2 near Exit 24. A few cars got stuck in up to 2 feet of water that pooled in the area.
