The flash flood resulted from an estimated 2 inches of rain that fell within a 45 minute time period over the small watershed comprising Silver Creek at Silver City, Tulare County, about 40 miles ENE of Visalia. Water washed over Mineral King Road at the 6900 foot elevation but only minor road erosion occurred.
