A strong low moved northeastward in the extreme western Bering Sea, moving toward Saint Lawrence Island late Thursday. finally weakening rapidly in the western Alaska mainland Saturday.

A strong low moved northeastward in the extreme western Bering Sea, moving toward Saint Lawrence Island late Thursday. The low then began to weaken and curve east and southeastward...finally weakening rapidly in the western Alaska mainland Saturday. Brisk northwest winds were observed along the "back side" of the low...where gusts reached between 50 and 55 mph.
