What was believed to be a weak tornado touched down briefly near the intersection of US 280 and Interstate 85 moving northerly for about 3- tenths of a mile. Damage was minimal. A fence was blown down at a motel, a couple of cars had windows broken out, and air conditioning units on a retail complex were moved.
