An all-day rain, peaking with a late afternoon 2 inch downpour in less than 2 hours, resulted in widespread flooding across Racine county. The high waters completly covered a stalled automobile west of Elwood, but the driver escaped harm. Total rainfall for the day was around 3 inches. Many county roads had 1 to 2 feet of water on them, and numerous basements had a couple feet of in them. From time to time, scattered stretches of county roads were closed.
