Several rounds of heavy rains (1 to 3 inch totals) on top of saturated soils, resulted in flooding of mainstem rivers in Kenosha county. The Fox river near New Munster crested at 12.15 feet at 2245CST on the 19th, or 2.15 feet over flood stage. Several roads had water over them, and were closed for a couple days. Rural farm land sustained soil erosion and crop damage. The long-term soil wetness going back into May, coupled with June's rainfall and flooding was so bad that only 1/2 of the corn crop was planted this year. Farmers said it was the worst they've seen.
