With the deep tropical moisture over southeast Utah, isolated high based thunderstorms developed over the southwest part of the state. One of these storms became severe in Washington county. During the early evening hours a spotter in Virgin estimated a wind gust to 68 mph (59 kts). He noted several small trees were uprooted by that gust. No other damage was reported.
