After the Supercell moved into northwestern Dawson County, a tornado formed 4 miles south of Welch near the intersection of FM 829 and FM 1066. The tornado was wrapped in rain and was difficult to see according to the spotter that saw it.

After the Supercell moved into northwestern Dawson County, a tornado formed 4 miles south of Welch near the intersection of FM 829 and FM 1066. The tornado was wrapped in rain and was difficult to see according to the spotter that saw it. The spotter quickly lost sight of the tornado as the curtain of rain thickened, thereby blocking the view.
